Glamsbjerg municipality

Glamsbjerg was until 31 December 2006, capital of the homonymous municipality on the island of Fyn in Denmark. The municipality covered an area of 91 km ² and had last 5924 inhabitants ( 2006). A good half of the population lived in the capital of the municipality. On 1 January 2007, the municipality was merged with Assen, Haarby, Tommerup, Vissenbjerg and Aarup, making the new Assen municipality was formed. It is part of Syddanmark Region.

The city, located on the railway line between Odense and Assen Glamsbjerg arose in 1884 in connection with the expansion of the railway network on Funen. In the center of the town still have several houses dating from the early 1900's. Today Glamsbjerg houses the local county police, a library, a medical center, a nursing home, dining facilities and several schools.

Built 1931 Open-Air Museum in Gummerup, south of Glamsbjerg, acts as a local history museum, while opened in 2001, Škoda Museum, which is housed in an old barn of the castle Krengerup, presents various, manufactured 1937-2004 models of the Czech automotive brand.
