The Glanfurt (Slovenian: Jezernica ) with a length of about 8.80 km is the only outlet of Lake Wörth, drained by the Glanfurt about 2,460 l / s. It begins in the eastern bay of the lake south of Maria Loretto peninsula and runs in an easterly direction, they formed the boundary between the southern districts Klagenfurt St. Martin- Waidmannsdorf, Sankt Ruprecht and St. Peter for former municipality Viktring. Later she runs as a border to the municipality Klagenfurt Ebenthal before it empties into the Glan. Name

" Glanfurt " is a purely official designation. The river is commonly called German Sattnitz by the local people after the nearby mountain range; in the Slovene dialect is the headwaters that formed a confusing delta before the regulation, which carries Sótnica, sporadically Setla while the underflow still old, originating from the Celtic name Lank ( a) rt ( " crooked creek "). This name is in a document handed down as Lanquart until the 16th century, but was then completely replaced in the German-speaking population by the name Sattnitz. In the official designation, however, was from Lanquart about Langfart and long ford finally Glanfurt.

Course

After discharge from the Wörthersee Glanfurt wanders past unspoiled natural floodplain, allows multiple boathouses and bathhouses on the so-called Schilfweg are left, arrives at a level meter under the bridge of Süduferstraße and then falls over the sea lock to a lower level down.

At the Wörthersee South Shore Road of Schleusenweg starts, runs north side parallel to the river and serves as a pedestrian and bicycle path. From the south, the two rivers Viktringer stream flow ( the eastern Keutschacher Seental drained ) and Kerbach in the Sattnitz. In this section until the Waidmannsdorfer road there are no buildings on the banks. Only a bicycle to Viktring crossed the river on a bridge. Otherwise, there are both sides of the river only meadows and arable land, and a small amusement park. Furthermore, the Schleusenweg runs as a bicycle and pedestrian path along the north shore to the Waidmannsdorfer road.

The " Waidmannsdorfer paints " was located between the Waidmannsdorfer and the Rosental valley the road, where now runs the bike path south of the Karawankenblick road and the settlement "Little Morocco " stands.
