Glasgow (Scottish Parliament electoral region)

Glasgow is one of Scotland's eight electoral regions of the Scottish Parliament election. It was created on the basis of the Scotland Act of 1998. It includes the entire city of Glasgow and areas of South Lanarkshire Council arear and was up to the revision of the electoral regions in 2011 in ten constituencies under part. As part of the audit, there was a change in the external borders and the boundaries of the constituencies. Moreover, their number was reduced from ten to nine. The first elections were held on 6 May 1999 as part of the general election.

Geographical breakdown

Under the Glasgow area ten constituencies were summarized. The constituencies corresponded regarding naming and cut the constituencies to the British Parliament. Each represents a specific constituencies by majority vote of Representatives. And throughout the constituency list seven candidates (Additional Members ) will be sent. As part of the revision of the electoral districts in 2011, the constituencies were re-cut and the number reduced from ten to nine.
