Glass Palace Chronicle

The Glass Palace Chronicle ( Hmannan Yazawin ) is a work of history from Myanmar (Burma ).

The work was commissioned in 1829 by Bagyidaw (reigned 1819-1837 ) commissioned and is a chronicle of the Burmese rulers. The name of the work refers to the Glass Palace, in which the work was written. The work is an important source for the history of the country, but it also shows strong mixing with mythical motifs. It is based on other Burmese chronicles, but is considered the most important.
