Glen Davis (basketball)

Glen Davis ( born January 1, 1986 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana ) is an American professional basketball player who currently plays for the Los Angeles Clippers in the NBA.

College

After Davis attended the University Laboratory High School in Baton Rouge, he went to the prestigious Louisiana State University, who was in his home town of Baton Rouge also. Already in his second year he was able to lead in the Final Four his team after 23 - year absence. After his sophomore season as a rookie Davis announced surprisingly on for the NBA Draft 2007.

NBA

Boston Celtics (2007 to 2011)

Glen Davis was gedrafted 35th by the Seattle SuperSonics, but later traded along with Ray Allen to the Boston Celtics and was with the Celtics right away master, even if Davis with only about 8 minutes of playing time per game contributed little to the Championship. After another good season in which he was on the floor an average of just over 21 minutes fell from both starter Kevin Garnett and Leon Powe back for the playoffs, so that Davis ran aground as a starter throughout the postseason. With nearly 16 points in 36 minutes, he underscored his skills impressively and failed along with the other team leaders Paul Pierce, Rajon Rondo and Ray Allen just short of the Orlando Magic in the second round.

On 10 August 2009 Davis signed a contract for two years and 6.5 million U.S. dollars.

Just two days before the first game of the season, Davis involved in a fight with an old acquaintance, in which he broke his thumb and turned out for six weeks. On the way to a game the New York Knicks, where he was supposed to celebrate his comeback, Davis was injured in a car accident and thus his comeback delayed further. On January 3, he played his first game of the season.

In the fourth game of the NBA Finals in 2010 against the Los Angeles Lakers on June 10, he secured his team the 2:2 compensation, as he scored 18 points in 22 minutes.

Orlando Magic (2011 to 2014)

In December, Davis joined together with Von Wafer to the Orlando Magic. In return, the Boston Celtics ' power forward ' Brandon Bass received. With the Magic but Davis managed legiglich 2011 and 2012, a place in the Play Offs. Due to various injuries Davis also had to stop again and again long time. Trivia

Due to its weight and its ( small) child's facial features it is with many people better than " Big Baby " known. Davis weighed in the meantime 150 kg. Since then, his weight loss was suggested that it may have taken almost 20 kg.

After a verbal attack on January 20 against a referee Davis was imposed a 25,000 dollar fine from the NBA.
