Glen Glenn (singer)

Glen Glenn ( born October 24, 1934 in Joplin, Missouri as Orin Glenn Troutman ) is an American rockabilly singer whose career began in the early 1950s and continues today.

Life

Childhood and youth

Glen Glenn is from Joplin, Missouri. He was early by traditional country music, called hillbilly music influences. 1948 Glenn and his family moved to San Dimas, California, where he first came into contact with the Western Swing. With his school friend Gary Lampert he joined as a 17 -year-old as the Missouri Mountain Boys in bars and restaurants in the Los Angeles area on.

Career

Through an appearance at a local radio station Glenn met the musician Eddie Cochran know who was still completely unknown. With him and his friend Lampert he recorded various demo tapes. In 1957, he came in the ERA Records to a recording contract. Here he also took his stage name Glen Glenn. His first single, Everybody's Movin ' was released in January 1958, however, as his subsequent plates outside California overlooked blieben.Seine career was interrupted by conscription into the army.

After Lampert and Glenn had been discharged from the army in 1960, they tried to continue their career. However, the great time of rockabilly was finally over.
