Glen Moore

Glen Moore ( born October 28, 1941 in Portland, Oregon) is an American jazz musician ( bass, piano ).

Life and work

According to classical piano lessons Moore played bass in the school orchestra and taught himself fundamentals of jazz and free improvisation with. He had first public appearances. Among the Young Oregonians in Portland, where he played with saxophonist Jim Pepper At the University of Oregon, he studied History and Literature (BA ) and cello. Among his teachers are bass Ludwig Streicher (Vienna) and François Rabbath (Hawaii) special mention.

Moore is a founding member of the group Oregon, with which occurs for more than 30 years; regularly he was also with pianist Larry Karush, singer Nancy King, and - especially in the 1990s - with Rabih Abou -Khalil on tour and has recorded with them. He also worked with Annette Peacock, Paul Bley, Bill Evans, Zoot Sims, Bennie Wallace, Charlie Mariano, Michael Brecker, Jeremy Steig, Zbigniew Seifert, Gary Burton and Barry Altschul and bassist as Detmar Kurig, Anthony Cox, Charlie Haden, Gary Peacock, Dave Holland, Steve Swallow, David Friesen and Barre Phillips together.
