Glendale is a city in Maricopa County in the U.S. state of Arizona, United States, with 226 721 inhabitants (as of April 1, 2010). The metropolitan area has a size of 144.4 km ². Glendale is bordered to the east by Phoenix and is part of the Valley of the Sun, the metropolitan area of Phoenix.

Glendale is located north of Interstate 10, west of Interstate 17 and east of Arizona State Route 101 through the town include the Way of U.S. Highway 60

The city is the seat of the Higher School of Economics " Thunderbird School of Global Management ."

Sports

Glendale is best known in the U.S. through its own NHL club, " Phoenix Coyotes ". The completed in August 2006, new "University of Phoenix Stadium " is home to the Arizona Cardinals. In February 2008, Glendale was the site of Super Bowl XLII. Also held end of March 2010 Wrestlemania XXVI place in University Of Phoenix Stadium.

Eight miles west of Glendale is the Luke Air Force Base, one of the main training base of the Air Education and Training Command.
