Glenfinnan Viaduct

The Glenfinnan Viaduct is a railway viaduct on the route of the West Highland Line in Glenfinnan, Scotland on the section between Fort William and Mallaig. It was built between July 1897 and October 1898 and is one of the most critical assets, which opened on April 14, 1901 the railway line. The viaduct then cost 18 904 pounds sterling.

The 380 meter long structure consists of 21 pillars that are up to 30 meters high. Today the trunk is used in passenger exclusively by diesel railcar class 156; Freight no longer takes place. In the summer runs daily except Saturday, the tourist special train "Jacobite Steam Train" steam locomotives that have helped the viaduct to a high level of awareness.
