Glenn Layendecker

Glenn Layendecker ( born May 9, 1961 in Stanford, California ) is a former American professional tennis player.

Life

Layendecker attended Yale University, where he graduated in economics in 1983. He then became a professional tennis player. In 1984, he won the individual title of the Challenger tournament in Nagoya. The following year, he was in Bristol for the first time in an ATP World Tour Finals, but he was defeated Marty Davis. On the side of Glenn Michibata also he was in the doubles final of Toronto. In 1986 he had to undergo knee surgery and went from January 1987 similar to Goran Prpić always with a knee brace on. In 1988, he was the second and last time in a singles final in Scottsdale he was beaten Mikael Pernfors. His only title on the ATP World Tour, he won in 1992 on the side of Byron Talbot in Stuttgart. Its highest listing in the tennis world ranking he reached in 1990 with position 48 in the singles and in 1989 with position 32 in doubles.

His best individual result at a Grand Slam tournament was the third- round participation in the Australian Open 1991. In the doubles competition, he reached twice the quarterfinals of the U.S. Open, and one each the second round of the Australian Open, the French Open and Wimbledon.
