Glenn David Whelan ( born January 13, 1984 in Dublin) is an Irish footballer who plays in midfield and currently stands at Stoke City under contract.

Career

Manchester City

Whelan began his professional career in 2001 with the English first division club Manchester City.In three years in Manchester, he came, but only at a competitive fixture use in the first team when he came on for Paul Bosvelt in August 2003 in the European Cup match against The New Saints FC. This was followed by a two-month loan to Bury FC.

Sheffield Wednesday
