Global Supply Systems

Global Supply Systems is a British cargo airline based and based on the London Stansted Airport.

History

Global Supply Systems was founded in 2001, before she began on 29 June 2002 with a leased from Atlas Air Boeing 747- 400F operating. She received by the Civil Aviation Authority that Type A license, which entitles them to perform passengers, cargo and mail with machines of more than 20 seats. The second Boeing 747 came in October 2002, the third was added in August 2003. From the beginning, Global Supply Systems led by only pure leasing flights under the ACMI principle; therefore it provided the aircraft, crew, maintenance and insurance. The first customer was British Airways, currently also leaves until April 2014 to the Middle East, India, Europe and the USA perform. The first implemented flight went from London Stansted via Frankfurt to Hong Kong.

In the fall of 2011 Global Supply Systems was one of the world's first operator of the new Boeing 747- 8F, which were ordered by Atlas Air.

On January 22, 2014 British Airways announced that the lease agreement with GSS is terminated early April 2014, and all three freighters are returned. British Airways pays to GSS an undisclosed sum of money. To whom the aircraft is leased then unknown.

The company is majority- owned British ( 51%), Atlas Air is a minority shareholder with 49%.

Destinations

Global Supply Systems currently operates exclusively on wet lease for British Airways under the brand British Airways World Cargo international freight flights.
