The Globe Arena is a football stadium in the English town of Morecambe, Lancashire. The football club FC Morecambe receives here since the opening of his opponents. It replaced the 1921 opened venue Christie Park. The Globe Arena has 6,476 spectator seats; of which 2,173 seats. The naming rights were sold to the construction company, Globe Construction.

History

The work for construction began on May 9, 2009, the earthworks. In early August 2010, the bulk of the construction work was done and final interior fittings were performed. The first football game at the stadium denied on 10 August 2011 in front of 4,002 spectators of Morecambe FC and Coventry City. The game of the first round of the League Cup ended with a 2-0 victory for the hosts.

The covered grandstand Peter McGuigan Stand in the south is named after the club chairman of the Morecambe FC. She is the only one of the grandstands with seats; the other three ranks are pure Admission ranks. At the east end of the grandstand also a seating block for visitors to the opposing team is established. The record attendance dates of 24 August 2010, when the Morecambe FC and Burnley FC (1:3) clashed. The encounter of the second round of the League Cup attracted 5,003 spectators in the stadium.
