Globus (airline)

Globus Airlines is a Russian airline based in Novosibirsk and base at the airport Novosibirsk Tolmachevo.

History

The airline was founded in spring 2008 by S7 Airlines, a major Russian airline based in Novosibirsk for charter flights. Globus Airlines started operations shortly thereafter with a Tupolev Tu- 154M, which was previously at the parent company in use. Other type aircraft Tupolev Tu- 154M and first Boeing 737-400 were transferred in the course of the first year of operation of S7 Airlines to Globus Airlines. In addition, aircraft followed by the Boeing 737-800 of the bankrupt U.S. carrier ATA Airlines.

In December of 2008, less than a year after its founding, Globe was sold by its parent company S7 Airlines to the East Line Group. The fleet of Globus Airlines is however still the striking and only slightly modified livery of S7 Airlines.

Destinations

Today tourist destinations abroad and domestic routes are served in charter and scheduled services, where the emphasis is now focused on lines and not on pure charter flights.
