Gloria DeHaven

Gloria Mildred DeHaven ( born July 23, 1925 in Los Angeles, California, USA) is an American film actress and was at Metro -Goldwyn- Mayer ( MGM) under contract. Your active time as an actress lasted from 1936 until the year 2000.

Life and career

DeHaven was the daughter of the acting director Carter DeHaven and actress Flora Parker DeHaven. The parents appeared as actors in vaudeville entertainment theaters. DeHaven began her career as a child in 1936 with a supporting role in Charlie Chaplin's film Modern Times. It came to sign the contract at MGM, but except by small roles in films such as The Thin Man Goes Home (1945 ) and Summer Stock (1950 ) achieved DeHaven no lasting fame as a movie star. In 1950, she portrayed her own mother in the Fred Astaire film Three Little Words.

DeHaven later joined as a regular guest in several American television soap operas and was a guest star in numerous television series such as West of Santa Fe, Gunsmoke, Fantasy Iceland, Hart to Hart, The Love Boat, Highway to Heaven, Murder, She Wrote and Touched of heaven.

DeHaven was married four times. Her first marriage to actor John Payne existed from 1944 until 1950. This marriage produced her daughter Kathleen Hope ( born 1945 ) and her son Thomas John Payne (* 1947). DeHavens second marriage to Martin Kimmell in the years 1953 to 1954 remained childless. With her ​​third husband Richard Fincher she was married twice, from 1957 to 1963 and 1965 until 1969. By Richard Fincher come her son Harry (* 1958) and her daughter Faith ( b. 1962 ).
