Glynis Barber

Glynis Barber ( born October 5, 1955 in Durban, South Africa), actually Glynis van der Riet, is a British actress.

Life

Barber grew up in South Africa. She studied drama at the Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts in London. She played her first role in 1978 horror film Killing House. Subsequently, she appeared in several television productions. In 1981, she won the role of Soolin in the BBC science fiction series Blake 's 7, which she became known to a wider audience for the first time. Ind the years 1985 and 1986 she played the female lead in the detective series Dempsey & Makepeace, through which she gained notoriety in Germany. During the filming, she met Michael Brandon, whom she then married. Between 1991 and 1996 she lived with her husband in the United States, there also their son was born. Between 2006 and 2007 she appeared in the British soap opera Emmerdale a policewoman, 2010 and 2011, she played the role of Glenda Mitchell in the television series EastEnders.
