Glynn County, Georgia
The Glynn County is a county located in the state of Georgia in the United States. Administrative office ( County Seat) is Brunswick.
Geography
The County is located in southeastern Georgia, south of the Altamaha River on the Atlantic Ocean and has an area of 1516 square kilometers, of which 422 square kilometers are water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: McIntosh County, Camden County, Brantley County and Wayne County.
On the land upstream of St. Simons Iceland a coastal fortress in the British colony of Georgia is the 1736 built in 1748 and abandoned Fort Frederica, against the Spaniards in Florida.
History
Glynn County was formed on February 5, 1777 as one of the eight original counties. It was named for John Glynn, a member of the British Parliament.

According to the census in 2000 lived in Glynn County 67 568 people; were counted 27 208 households, and 18,392 families. The population density was 62 people per square kilometer. The racial the population was made up of 70.66 percent White, 26.45 percent Black or African American, 0.26 percent Native American, 0.60 percent Asian, 0.05 percent of residents from the Pacific Islander and 0.88 percent from other races groups; 1.09 percent were descended from two or more races. 2.99 percent of the total population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
Of the 27 208 households out of which 30.2 percent have children under the age of 18 living with them. 49.5 percent were married couples living together, 14.6 percent were single mothers and 32.4 percent were non-families. 27.2 percent of all households and 10.1 percent lived in people aged 65 years or older. The average household size was 2.44 and the average family size was 2.95 persons.
25.3 percent of the population were under 18 years old, 8.2 percent between 18 to 24, 27.6 percent between 25 and 44, 24.5 percent between 45 and 64 and 14.4 percent were 65 years or older. The average age was 38 years. For every 100 females there were 91.7 males statistically every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 87.5 males.
The median income for a household was $ 38,765, and the median income for a family $ 46,984. Males have a median income of $ 34,363, women $ 23,558. The per capita income was $ 21,707. 11.6 percent of families and 15.1 percent of the population lived below the poverty line.
