Gmane

Gmane is a Mail2News gateway. It allows users to read the mailing list with a news reader via NNTP, and also provides a web interface for web browser. Gmane is understood as an archive, so there are no old messages are deleted.

E -mail lists are checked with SpamAssassin and an anti -virus program, so that the user is not disturbed by UBE / UCE and viruses.

Gmane is bidirectional, writing on lists is thus also allowed. Outgoing messages are simultaneously checked by TMDA in order to ensure that it is not spam.

The project in 2001 by the Norwegian Lars Magne Ingebrigtsen programmer, who is also the maintainer of the newsreader Gnus was founded.
