GN Store Nord

The Great Northern (GN ) is a group of companies based in Denmark, which was founded in 1869 as a telecommunications network operators and on January 1, 1872 opened the telegraph from Europe via Russia to the Far East. In 1928 the Great Northern Holding was created as its holding company.

The GN was initiated by Carl Frederik Tietgens by the merger of newly established multinational European Telegrafiegesellschaften and an expanded business model.
