Gnaeus Mallius Maximus

Gnaeus Mallius Maximus was a politician of the late Roman Republic.

He was consul in 105 BC In the same year, the Battle of Arausio against the Cimbri and Teutons took place, one of the worst defeats in the history of the Roman Empire. The reason for this was partly that the military commander Quintus Servilius Caepio, which the majority was subordinated to legions refused to cooperate because of the contempt for the homo novus. Gnaeus Mallius Maximus, who had lost his two sons during the battle had, later (103 BC) testify in court to battle.
