The gneiss head is a mountain in Antarctica in Queen Maud Land. It is located southwest of Mount Neustruyev, at the southern end of the Southern Petermann chain in Wohlthat massif.
Discovery and designation
The gneiss head was discovered by the German Antarctic Expedition 1938/39, under the direction of Alfred Ritscher, and named after the metamorphic rock gneiss head gneiss.
