GNOME Character Map

Gucharmap ( " GNOME Unicode Character Map" ) is a Unicode character representation program. It draws on the GTK toolkit, and runs on any platform which supports GTK. The signs of gucharmap can be inserted into many other programs if there (special ) characters are required which are not available from the keyboard. gucharmap contains all Unicode characters and thus the characters of almost all writing systems. Since GNOME 2.4 is included in GNOME.

Gucharmap arranges the characters by Unicode groups and offers a full text search for the character details. Since version 1.8, it contains Unicode 5.0 support

In order to display the corresponding characters in gucharmap graphically, on Linux the corresponding ttf packages need to be installed.
