GNU nano

Nano is a free text editor for Linux and UNIX systems and for Microsoft Windows. He is unlike other applications on the command line - such as vi - easy to use, making it popular with beginners. The write application is a GNU replica of the proprietary Pico text editor, which is used in Pine. Nano is written in the C programming language and uses the ncurses library.

His first release in 1999 was called TIP - what ' is short for, TIP Is not Pico.

Operation

The basic operation using the arrow keys and the keyboard. To take advantage of features such as saving and cutting, there are button combinations.

Functions

Nano is not one of the most powerful text editors, but supports all basic edit functions: Edit, Cut, Copy, Paste, Browse, Find and Save. He also mastered syntax highlighting for common languages.
