GNU Savannah

GNU Savannah is a developer site of the Free Software Foundation, to develop the all developers, free software, many resources such as CVS server, GNU arch repositories, mailing lists, web forums, etc. download servers available to them.

GNU Savannah was established in response to the publication of a proprietary version of the software developer sourceforge in version 3, which now also runs on the popular developer site Sourceforge. GNU Savannah therefore uses a self which is under GPL Version 2 of this software. To allow a better distinction between the website and the software used for this purpose, the software was named Savane ( the French spelling for savannah ). The main development of Savane is at the moment mainly on Gna! instead.

On GNU Savannah also all the software from the GNU project is developed, what everyone can participate.

Developers who want to use GNU Savannah must choose a license that corresponds to the idea of the Free Software Foundation free software and is compatible with the GNU General Public License.
