Goal (ice hockey)
The Eishockeytor belongs to the relevant equipment of a hockey pitch. At the start of hockey history in 1850 was the only Eishockeytor of two bars later, it had a wooden frame over which a fishing net in Canada was laid later. Approximately since 1920 is played with metal gates.
Current rules
The IIHF writes in Rule 130, the following provisions for the gates before:
- The goals must be anchored in the center of the goal line.
- The goalposts have the following dimensions: Height (Internal Dimensions ): 1.22 m, measured from the ice surface;
- Width (inside ): 1.83 m.
