Godfrid, Duke of Frisia

Gottfried's wife Gisela had been kept out of the violent death of her husband. She went into the monastery and became abbess of Nivelles and Fosses and died in the year 907

Gottfried is often confused with Gottfried Haraldsson, son of King Harald Klak of Denmark. This has already been baptized in infancy in the year 826 and is last mentioned in a document for the year 855. Thus, an identity of the two, while not necessarily excluded, but very unlikely.
