GOELRO plan

Approximately 1920 was established to the " State Commission for the Electrification of Russia ". This worked out an amount calculated on 10 to 15 -year plan to increase tenfold the existing capacity of electric power. For this purpose, the construction of 30 power plants was provided.

The GOELRO plan was until the early 1930s met.

From this time the colloquial term " Ilyich's lamp " ( лампочка Ильича ) for the light bulb is due, as Vladimir Ilyich Lenin advanced the electrification.
