Goethe Tower

The Goethe Tower is a fully wooden -built, 43-meter high observation tower at the northern edge of the Frankfurt City Forest in Frankfurt -Sachsenhausen ( Sachsenhausen Landwehrweg ). It has 196 steps and was until 1999 the tallest publicly accessible timber of Germany.

History

Since 1867 was a then 22 -meter high wooden tower on the same site. The original tower had to be demolished after the First World War due to disrepair.

Use
