Gogrial

Gogrial is a city in the state of Warrap in South Sudan. It lies on the River Sue -Jur and on the road from Wau to Babanusa and has a landing strip for airplanes. It is the capital of West Gogrial County.

History

In the first secessionist war in southern Sudan Anyanya rebels committed the mid-1960s an attack on Gogrial. This attack helped that turned the northern Sudanese Misseriya against the southern Sudanese Dinka.
