Gołda Tencer

Golda Tencer ( born August 2, 1949 in Łódź ) is a Polish-Jewish actress, singer and director.

Golda Tencer comes from a religious Jewish family. Her father Szmul Tencer (1915-1971) was a survivor of the Holocaust. Her mother Sonia Tencer survived the war in the Soviet Union. First stage experiences she made to the Jewish school Pereca in Łódź and as a child in the Common Theatre in Łódź. In 1969 she went to Warsaw and received acting lessons at the local Jewish theater. In 1971 she received her degree in acting and has since been one of the ensemble of the Jewish Theater. In 1984 she received a scholarship from the Government of the United States of America and was given the opportunity theater work in the U.S. know. Golda Tencer is married to long-time director of the Jewish Theater Szymon Szurmiej. It is valid in Poland as one of the outstanding performers of Yiddish songs. In Germany it was a wider audience by Dani Levy's film Alles auf Zucker! known in the role of the wife of Udo Samel. In Warsaw, she continues to serve as a director and actress at the Jewish Theatre.
