Golden Amur

The Golden Amur are a former Russian hockey club from Khabarovsk, who played in the 2004/05 season in the Asia League Ice Hockey.

History

The Golden Amur were founded in the summer of 2004 and served as a farm team for Amur Khabarovsk of the Russian Super League. The team participated in the 2004/05 season in part to a year earlier founded Asia League Ice Hockey, in which they finished in third place at eight participating teams. In the subsequent playoffs Seibu Prince Rabbits the Russians the subject in the first round with a sweep in the best- of-five series. The alih wanted to create with the inclusion of a Russian clubs to jump to Russia, while for Khabarovsk had the opportunity to recruit players from a good quality league. Due to financial problems the Golden Amur game operation had to relist after only one season.
