Golden Gate University

The Golden Gate University is a prestigious, private university in San Francisco in the U.S. state of California. The main campus is located in the financial district in the center of San Francisco. Other locations are in Los Angeles, Monterey Bay, Sacramento, San Jose, Walnut Creek and Seattle. With currently 9693 students, it is the fifth largest private university in California.

History

The Golden Gate University was created in 1901 from the YMCA Evening College and took in 1910 after a competition its present name. In 1972, she received the university status.
