Golden Globes (Portugal)

Globo de Ouro is an award each year since 1996 by the Portuguese TV channel SIC and the magazine Caras price which includes several categories in the areas of art and entertainment in Portugal such as theater, sports, cinema, fashion and music. The ceremony will be televised by TV SIC.

History

Prizes will be awarded since 1996 in the field of cinema best film, best director, best actor and best actress. In the area of ​​sport, fashion and theater personality of the year is honored with an award. On the music side, the awards to the best performers, the best music group and the best song will be awarded. In the area of ​​television, the best moderator of an information program, the best host of a variety show, the best show in the area of ​​fiction and comedy, the best entertainment show and the best information program will be awarded. In addition, there was until 2001 a Globo de Ouro for the life work of a person who has been renamed award for achievement and excellence in 2002.

2000 and 2001 awards were presented in the field radio.

From 2002 also the best actor and best actress have been awarded in programs in the field fiction and comedy.
