Golden Mile (Rhineland-Palatinate)

As the Golden Mile located between Bad Breisig Remagen and fertile plains west of the Rhine is called. The designation "golden" is due to the fertility of the soil in this area here.

Negative became famous for this section of the Rhine valley by the prisoner of war camp Golden Mile, in which German soldiers were held captive under the open sky in the spring of 1945.
