Goldhawk Road tube station

Goldhawk Road is an aboveground station London Underground in the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham. It is located in the Travelcard Zone 2, on the same street in Shepherd's Bush district. In the year 2011 there were 1.6 million passengers these trains the Hammersmith & City Line and Circle Line station.

The opening of the station took place on April 1, 1914 by the Metropolitan Railway ( predecessor company of the Metropolitan Line). The reason for the construction was the simultaneous relocation of the station Shepherd's Bush by about three hundred yards to the north. The route was opened in 1864 but by the Hammersmith & City Railway, which was initially part of the Great Western Railway and three years later became the property of the Metropolitan Railway. In 1990, the operational independence of the Hammersmith branch of the Metropolitan Line under the name Hammersmith & City Line. Since December 13, 2009 here also keep trains on the Circle Line.
