GOLOS Association

Golos (Russian Голос, voice) is a Russian NGO. It was founded in 2000 in order to allow his own words the right to vote of the Russian population and a free society. In the Russian parliamentary elections in 2011 brought an Golos accusations that they have been put under pressure from the government. Against Golos, a process was opened and it was shown in Russian media as a western propaganda organization. Golos emerged as a de facto sole source in reports of vote-rigging in the German media.

After the Russian State Duma in mid-2012, a new NGO bill giving organizations and funds to disclose their funding obligation ( which is financed from abroad organizations as " foreign agents " must register ) to Golos refused to comply with this obligation. Then Golos was punished with a fine.
