Golwé locomotive

A Golwé locomotive is a steam locomotive with two movable motor bogies. The main frame took on the cab and boiler. The front motor bogie was performed in the manner of Meyer or Mallet locomotives under the boiler barrel. The main frame resting on the back of the rear bogie in the manner of a locomotive Garratt. This type of locomotive was developed by the Belgian locomotive factory Haine- Saint- Pierre on the operating director Goldschmidt and the chief engineer Weber. From the two last names, the name is derived from Lokomotiv. The first shipment of these vehicles took place in 1928 at the railway in the Ivory Coast.
