Gomez (Band)
Gomez is a British indie rock band from Southport in England, which was founded in 1996.
Band History
Their debut album, Bring It On in 1998 received good reviews both in Europe and in the United States and was awarded the Mercury Music Prize. The band, which still exists in the same formation as the founding year, brought in the following years several more albums out, which also received good chart positions in the UK, the U.S. and also in Australia. In Germany Gomez is largely unknown.
The band was until the release of Split the Difference (2004) on Virgin Records. The subsequent albums from 2005 published by ATO Records. A retrospective Five Men in a Hut with their singles, B-sides and rarities appeared in October 2006 on the label Hut / Virgin.
