Gonbach

Gonbach is a municipality in the Thunder Mountain district in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Winnweiler.

Geography

Gonbach lies to the east of the river Alsenz 1 km above of Munchweiler on a steep hill in 290 m height.

History

Occupy cairns that had settled in the area Celts. 1019 was the first documentary mention as " lower" and " Oberganenbach ". Since the Middle Ages to 1972 Gonbach was managed by the larger neighboring community Münch Alsenz and also shares the history of the place.

From leiningischem property fell Gonbach 1705, together with Munchweiler, as a dowry to Count Ferdinand Andreas von Wiser ( 1677-1751 ), whose wife was a born Countess of Leiningen. The counts of Wiser were the local lords to the left of the Rhine, German territory in 1798 fell to France. Later, the village came to the Kingdom of Bavaria, from 1946 to Rhineland- Palatinate. From 1972, it was assigned to the municipality Winnweiler and received its own mayor. Parish council

The council is in Gonbach ( regular) from twelve council members, who were elected at the municipal election held on 7 June 2009 a personalized proportional representation, and the honorary mayor as chairman.

Allocation of seats in the local council:

1 November 2010, retired from a council member of the group of voters village development Gonbach (DEG ), the substitutes did not accept the mandate. Since the list of DEG had no other substitutes, the number of Council members decreased in accordance with § 29 GemO for the rest of the legislative period from twelve to eleven.

Culture

On the second weekend in September the town celebrates their traditional church fete.

Dialect

Gonbach dedicated to - about his culture and sports club ( KSV ) - especially the care of the local dialect and organized since 1984 in the fall of the dialect poet Compete Gonbach which has the second longest tradition of all competitions. Successful participants are Rolf Büssecker from Beindersheim and Hans Jürgen Schweizer, the five emerged victorious.

About the federal highway 48 west of Munchweiler and the highway 63 north of it Gonbach is connected to the national road network. By Munchweiler also the Alsenztalbahn, a branch line of the Deutsche Bahn runs (Kaiserslautern -Bingen ).
