Gongboxia Dam

The Gongbaixia Dam ( also: Gongboxia ) is a dam with a hydroelectric plant on the Huang He (Yellow River ) in the north of the People's Republic of China.

The five turbines of the hydropower plant has a rated capacity of 300 megawatts each. Thus, 5.14 billion kWh can be generated per year.

For the structure, a rockfill dam with concrete cover ( CFRD ), there is according to various sources the altitude 127, 132 and 139 m.

Construction work

Construction began in July 2000 with the diversion of the river and 2001, the pit was dug. From August 2002 to October 2003, the dam was poured. The concrete slabs were produced between March 2004 and June 2004. In August 2004, they began to fill the reservoir and 2006, the construction was completed.
