Gongsun Kang

Gongsun Kang († 221) was a Chinese warlord in Liaodong and the northwestern Korea.

He was a son of Gongsun Du, the Governor of Liaodong. After his death, Gongsun Kang took over 204 commanderies Xuantu and Lelang. Nominally he was Cao Cao subordinate, but he held his territory semi- independent. 207 he killed him Yuan Shang and Yuan Xi, the last descendant of Yuan Shao.

He defeated Sansang, king of Goguryeo, and forced him to shift his capital. Then he made 204 from the southern half of the Daifang Lelang Commandery to streamline the administration. In military expeditions he subdued the peoples of southern Korea.

When he died in 221, his younger brother, Gongsun Gong followed him, because Kang's children were still too young. In the year 228 took over Kang's son Gongsun Yuan the rule.
