Gonja people

The Gonja are a people in Ghana, which is also called Ngbanyito.

This ethnic group lives in the southern part of the Northern Region in the central west of the country. The settlement area extends around the upper tributaries to Lake Volta, Black Volta from up to both banks of the White Volta.

The Gonja belong to the group of North Guang peoples because of their mother tongue Gonja.
