The patrons Bach ( also Gönnabach, Gönnaer Bach or only Gönna called ) is a left tributary of the Saale in the Saale- Holzland ( Thuringia). Its catchment area is the Gönnatal.
Course
The headwaters of the creek patrons is Vierzehnheiligen. It flows through the towns of Krippendorf, Altengönna, Lehesten, Nerkewitz and Neuengönna. Its mouth is located near the railroad tracks at the Saale.
Origin of the name
Is already in an imperial document the year 1044 a pago Ginnaha mention, in which the village was located Nerkewitz. 1284 was the rivum, qui Ginna vocatur as positional relationship for the Hainicher forest. The creek and landscape name means " gaping canyon ".

The patrons Bach drove past two mills in Nerkewitzer reason. Above Nerkewitz the stream is dammed to form a lake, the Nerkewitzer reservoir. This offers many leisure and recreational activities such as fishing, camping and winter skating.
