Goo is the sixth studio album by the noise rock band Sonic Youth, and was published in June 1990. Goo was the first album on a major label: Geffen Records.
The cover and the back show comic drawings by Raymond Pettibon. The cover depicts the couple Maureen Hindley and her husband, David Smith, said this in 1966 as a witness in a murder trial of the Moors Murderers series from.
Production
The tracks have been recorded in the studios Sorcerer and Green Street in New York City in 1989.

The album was moderately successful, the U.S. charts reached ( number 96 ), the United Kingdom ( No. 32 ), New Zealand (ranked 22) and the Dutch charts ( No. 71 ).
Criticism
The reviews were consistently benevolent. So the Rolling Stone spoke of a brilliant essay in refined primitivism.
