Goobi

Goobi is a software package for digitization projects in libraries, archives, museums and documentation centers. It is used as an open- source software, especially in public libraries in Germany, but also in Great Britain, the Netherlands, Austria and Spain. With Goobi are, inter alia, Manuscripts, prints, books, magazines and newspapers digitized and presented.

Properties

The software consists of two components Goobi.Production and Goobi.Presentation. Goobi.Production supports the digitization workflow. Technically speaking, this is a Java application that typically runs on a Linux system with Apache Tomcat and MySQL database. The user interface is browser-based and therefore operating system independent. Goobi.Presentation allows the public presentation of the digital versions. The software is an extension of the free Content Management Framework TYPO3.
