Good News (Musical)

Good News is a musical with music by Ray Henderson and lyrics by BG DeSylva and Lew Brown. The book was written by BG DeSylva and Laurence Schwab. Laurence Schwab and Frank Mandel produced the show. The piece was to see the George Olson Orchestra as a college band. It premiered on September 6, 1927 at Chanin 's 46th Street Theatre (now the Richard Rodgers Theatre ) in New York. The musical was very successful, it had 551 performances with the longest term of Broadway musicals in the 1920s.

Action

An American college musical. Tom is everyone's favorite and star of the football team. His girlfriend Patricia, he has made a proposal of marriage. She wants to take him if he wins the big game against the rival college. Because he has failed in astronomy, he may only participate in the game if he is to astronomy - examination. To help him learn, Patricia introduces him to her cousin Connie. The two fall in love and of course, Tom is also the exam, but what will become of him and Connie if his team wins ...?
