Google Answers

Google Answers was an April 2002 to November 2006 service offered by Google digital reference service.

The Google services Google Answers offered personalized research services for a fee ( 2.50 to 200 U.S. dollars). The research was supported by so-called " Google Answers Researchers " completed, of which there were an estimated 500. The Google Answers Researchers worked on a freelance basis and were not Google employees.

The client could make a request ( with the exception of illegal requests, such as copyright infringement ) and decide what price was paid for an answer. The Researchers were given 75 % of the price of the response. Google retained 25 % and an additional 0.5 percent of U.S. dollars, these were taken as management fees, even if the question could not be answered.

If the request has been answered, the customer could also give a kind of tip. If the answer was not clear, the customer could also request further clarification.

In addition to the question and answer that could only edit the client and the researcher, each question also had a comment section in which each registered member could record his notes.

The service was only available in English and was terminated on 30 November 2006.
