Google Now

Now Google is an extension of the Google Search app, which serves as an intelligent personal assistant for Google's Android and Apple's mobile operating system iOS.

History

Google Search provides speech recognition software for the processing of naturally spoken language. As a competitor to Apple's Siri and Samsung S Voice Google Search was the first time in 2012 available in Android 4.1 " Jelly Bean" on the Galaxy Nexus with Google Now. On April 29 2013 Google Now has been released for iOS.

Functions

(Called " cards") The range of functions ranging from the latest weather, traffic and news information to the automatic browsing of e- mails to important information, such as receipts for tickets to an event, and is constantly being extended.

The big difference from Google Now for example, Siri is that the information will appear depending on the situation - for example, before an event route to the relevant location of the appointment, or near a cinema displays information about current movies.

Demarcation

Google Search integrates different services, which is why a distinction has become blurred. Colloquially Google Search is integrated with Google Now simply referred to as "Google Now".
