Goran Janus

Goran Janus ( born March 27, 1970 in Ljubljana ) is a retired Slovenian ski jumper and today's ski jumping coach.

Janus made ​​his international debut at the Junior World Championship in 1989 in Vang, where he won the silver medal with the Yugoslav team in the team competition on the normal hill. On December 16, 1989 he gave his debut in Sapporo Ski Jumping World Cup. A year later, he was on the same ski jump win with 15th place his first World Cup point. A day later in the second jump he succeeded in this placement. In the Nordic World Ski Championships 1991 in Val di Fiemme, he reached the normal hill the 46th and the 22th of the large hill place. On February 24, 1991 with his eighth place in ski flying at Kulm achieved the best individual placement in the World Cup. The season 1990/91 he finished on the 42nd place in the World Cup overall standings. In the ski flying standings, he was on the 20th Place. The following season, Janus could not achieve top rankings more and then began parallel Ski Jumping Continental Cup to compete.

By 1999, Janus launched yet in Ski Jumping Continental Cup, before he ended his ski jumping career after last only rear unsuccessful placements.

After his active ski jumping career Janus graduated from the coach education. From 2003 to 2011 he was assistant coach of the Slovenian national team. As Matjaž Zupan 2011 moved to France, he was promoted to head coach.
