Goran Perkovac

Goran Perkovac ( born September 16, 1962 in Slatina, his time in the SFR Yugoslavia ) is a Croatian handball coach and former handball player. He is married and has two children.

Playing career in Switzerland

Goran Perkovac 1989 moved to BSV BORBA Lucerne. With this club the back player won the 1993 its first-ever championship in Switzerland. In 1996 he moved for four and a half years to watch TV where he said goodbye to two league titles. His last stop was the Scout Winterthur.

Goran Perkovac was also successful in the national team, he played in 192 international matches and won at the 1996 Olympic Games gold medal.

With 2,637 goals in 359 games Perkovac is the leader of the goalscorers list in the Swiss Handball League.

Career as a coach

Goran Perkovac began his coaching career with the TV clock. In the 2001/2002 season, he took over Scout Winterthur, in which he also won for the first time the Swiss Championship as a coach. In the following season he managed the double, this should have been the last success with the Winterthurern because Perkovac did not renew his contract. On October 17, 2003, he took over as coach of the eternal Championship secret favorites cadets Schaffhausen of Wadi Müller and led the club to the first Cup victory and won the first championship in club history the following season.

In addition to his activities at Schaffhausen Goran Perkovac oversaw the Greek national handball team. From 2008 to 2013 he was responsible for the Swiss national team. Beginning in July 2013 gave the Swiss federation and Perkovac announced that the 2014 valid contract of the Croats is terminated by mutual consent at the end of July 2013. Subsequently signed Perkovac a two -year contract with German Bundesliga GWD Minden.
